At Ross Animal Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Covington, Georgia, we offer underwater treadmill therapy for pets, also known as veterinary hydrotherapy, as part of our advanced rehabilitation services for dogs and cats. This innovative, low-impact treatment is ideal for pets recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions like arthritis, or working on weight loss and general fitness.

Whether you're located in Roswell, Alpharetta, Snellville, Cobb County, or anywhere across the Southeastern United States, our underwater treadmill therapy provides safe, effective, and personalized care to improve your pet’s mobility, strength, and overall wellness.

🐾 What Is Underwater Treadmill Therapy?

Underwater treadmill therapy is a type of canine and feline physical therapy that combines the benefits of water buoyancy and resistance with controlled walking motion. Your pet walks on a submerged treadmill in a temperature-controlled pool, allowing for gentle, effective movement with minimal stress on joints and muscles.

This therapy is ideal for:

  • Post-surgical recovery

  • Arthritis and joint pain

  • Neurological conditions

  • Obesity

  • Sports conditioning

  • Senior pets with mobility issues

💧 How It Works

Each hydrotherapy session at Ross Animal Hospital is tailored to your pet’s condition and progress. Here's how the process supports healing and strength:

✅ Buoyancy

The water supports your pet’s weight, reducing strain on joints and allowing pain-free movement—ideal for pets recovering from injury or surgery.

✅ Resistance Training

Water provides natural resistance, helping to build muscle strength, increase endurance, and improve cardiovascular health.

✅ Therapeutic Warm Water

Our underwater treadmill uses temperature-controlled water to relax tight muscles, ease joint stiffness, and reduce inflammation.

✅ Custom Adjustments

We can precisely control the water level, treadmill speed, and incline, tailoring every session to your pet’s physical abilities and rehabilitation goals.
